SETEC was recently featured in the PSMA (Power Sources Manufactures Association) Update newsletter www.psma.com
Australian-owned power systems manufacturer, Setec, is staying ahead in a fast-changing and competitive market by focusing on a new range of telecommunications products, and has recently opened a new purposed-based plant in Australia and offices in China.
Peter Lloyd, the founder and managing director of Setec, identified an opportunity for SETEC to launch into telecommunications power solutions. Based on their strong foundation in the Australian power systems market, Setec has invested in the designing and manufacturing of the Diverse Power Systems.
The range of Diverse Power Systems provide the complete power and battery management solution for today’s wide range of telecommunication requirements. Systems range from low capacity compact DC solutions for powering local office switches, customer premise equipment and fibre optic terminals through to high capacity DC solutions for powering gateway and transmission centers as well as central office installations.
Diverse Power Systems have been designed for ease of installation and commissioning. Flexibility has been included to allow for top or bottom cable entry points, optional placement of system elements within the rack and optionally battery shelves to provide the complete power solution.
Setec is very proud of its DR3000 new generation rectifier for use with their range of Diverse Power Systems. The DR3000 combines Setec’s propriety high frequency resonant power technology, combined with microprocessor control and thermal management to provide high reliability and efficient operation with intelligent control.
Designed for efficiency and thermal management the Diverse DR3000 rectifier is rated at 92% efficiency, while operating over a wide input voltage range with unity power factor. Constant power characteristics of the output over a wide voltage range allow for reduced systems cost due to reduction of rectifiers required.
Internal microprocessor circuitry communicates with DM3000 monitor controller over an optically isolated RS485 network for full control over adjustable parameters with no user adjustments. Failsafe back up circuitry keeps all settings in the event of loss of power or loss of communication with the monitor-controller.
