When SETEC Pty Ltd moved into its new purpose built facilities in Knoxfield in 1999 it was just one of many planned changes that the company was to go under over the next 2 years.
SETEC’s focus in the past had been on supplying a niche market with purpose built power supplies. The company has enjoyed over 30 years of successfully meeting customer’s power supply requirements and built a reputation for engineering excellence, high quality, and innovative power solutions.
Understanding a need to build its product range and develop an export market, while remaining within its area of expertise, SETEC decided to invest heavily in the development of a range of Diverse Power Systems. Earlier this year these systems were successfully launched in Asia to wide acclaim for providing a cost effective, complete power and battery management solution for today’s wide range of telecommunication requirements.
While not taking its eye totally off the local market, during the last 2 years the company’s resources were focussed on the Diverse Power Systems and with their success SETEC’s eye is back firmly on its task of improving its local share of the OEM Power Supply market.
Old and new customers will not only see a new SETEC logo and an innovative advertising strategy, they will be offered total power solutions from concept through to integration which includes the development of the specification, supply of prototypes and final production quantities in a timetable that will meet the tightest requirements.
Already this has paid dividends with SETEC accessing a new industry for their product namely the freight industry. SETEC has just delivered the first production quantities of a controller that is used for the powering and controlling of a trailer jacking system. This very innovative controller allows the trailer legs to be raised or lowered depending on its operating state.
SETEC in the old form was very successful, in the new form this success will be built on and greatly advantage local customers.
