While the basic trend in Electronics manufacturing has been to outsource, SETEC's very high quality requirements and necessity to ensure all aspects of their products are at optimum performance levels has meant they have decided to keep all manufacturing in-house.
Over the years this has proved to be an excellent strategy with negligible warranty claims (SETEC offer 5 year warranty on Power Supplies, the best in the industry) and as a result SETEC's customers report a very high level of satisfaction.
Obviously keeping manufacturing costs to a minimum in a high cost manufacturing environment (Australia) is critical. SETEC have recently spent nearly one million dollars upgrading the surface mount line to include a Universal HSP which is a rotary turret machine utilizing 16 heads each with five nozzles and a run rate of 36,000 components per hour.
The capacity of this equipment and its accuracy meant it was the ideal choice to compliment the other equipment and highly dedicated workforce at SETEC's purpose built facility, located at Knoxfield.
