SETEC named Employer of Choice in prestigious business awards
Innovative power supply manufacturer Setec has been awarded Employer of Choice in The Australian Business Awards 2017.
The annual awards recognise organisations which demonstrate innovation, technological achievement and employee engagement via a set of comprehensive award categories.
The Employer of Choice Framework assessment benchmarks businesses against world class performance standards and recognises well-managed, high-performing, industry leading organisations which provide a stimulating and supportive workplace.
Setec builds complete custom designed battery and power management systems from its factory in Knoxfield, Victoria. Its systems extend to the medical, defence, gaming, communications, RV and automotive industries.
With a history expanding nearly five decades, it is recognised as the foremost quality producer of custom design power supplies in Australia and is gaining a significant reputation globally.
Setec CEO Louise Bayliss says the award is recognition of its commitment to its staff and the community.
Setec offers a monthly $500 donation to local community groups or non-profit organisations encouraging staff to nominate charities or groups to receive the donation.
In 2014 the company also implemented the ‘Setec Improvement Process’ (SIP) designed as a way to get staff involved in suggesting and implementing improvements to the way they work, and the business as a whole.
Louise says, “it is a great accolade for Setec to win this award. It confirms all our strategies around employee engagement, culture fit and on-going development is heading in a direction that is recognised by our employees and the wider industry”.
She says 20 of its current staff have worked for the business for more than 10 years and it prides itself on its culture.
